The first question every business owner asks is the one nobody answers straight: what will this cost? The second is when will it be live. You usually get a number on WhatsApp with no idea what's behind it, and a date that quietly moves.

Here is how we price and plan websites at Northkind, what changes the number, and what you should expect from anyone you hire, including us.

What a website costs, and what moves the number

Our websites start at ₹25,000. That is a real starting point for a small business site, not a teaser, and we give you a fixed price in writing after one conversation. What moves the number up is scope, and it's worth understanding the three things that move it most.

How many pages, and how different they are. Five pages that share one layout cost less than five pages that each need their own design. A homepage, an about page and a contact page are quick. A services section where every service needs its own page, photos and enquiry form is not.

Whether the words and pictures exist. If you have product photos, a logo and the text ready, a site moves fast. If we're writing your copy, shooting your products and building your brand at the same time, that's real work and it's priced as such.

Whether you sell online. A site that shows what you sell and asks people to call or message is one kind of build. A store that takes payments, tracks stock and handles shipping is another, with more to design, more to test and more that can break.

The cheapest website is usually the one you have to pay for again next year.

If a quote is far below everything else you've been given, it's normally a template with your logo dropped into it. That isn't automatically wrong, and for some businesses it's the sensible choice. Just know that's what you're buying, and ask what happens when you need a page the template doesn't have.

What the price should include

Whoever you hire, this is the list worth checking against a quote. Ours covers all of it.

  • Every page designed, not just the homepage. A homepage mockup is easy to fall in love with and tells you nothing about the rest.
  • Mobile layouts. Most of your visitors in Fatehabad are on a phone. The phone version is the real version.
  • The words. Agree who is writing them before work starts. This is the single most common reason sites sit half-finished.
  • The basics that let Google find you. A title and description for each page, a sitemap, Search Console set up, and your Google Business Profile pointing at the new site.
  • Speed. Compressed images and a site that opens in about a second. A slow site quietly loses the people who were ready to call.
  • A way to make contact that actually works. A WhatsApp button, a tap-to-call number, and a form that reaches you rather than an inbox nobody opens.
  • The handover. Your domain and hosting in your own account, in your name, plus a walkthrough of how to change text and photos yourself.

Things that usually cost extra, and should be quoted separately: a photo or video shoot, landing pages for ads, ongoing content, and a monthly maintenance plan.

How long it takes, week by week

For a straightforward business site, plan for about three to four weeks from the day we start. Here's where that time goes.

  1. Week one: agree and gather. We meet, settle the page list, and collect what exists: logo, photos, product details, anything already written. You get the fixed quote before anything else starts.
  2. Week two: design. You see the real pages, with your own words and photos in them, on both desktop and phone. One round of changes is included, and this is the stage to be picky.
  3. Week three: build. The approved design becomes a working site: forms, WhatsApp button, maps, speed work, and the Google setup.
  4. Week four: check and launch. You click through everything on your own phone, we fix what you find, point the domain, and go live.

An online store takes longer, usually five to eight weeks, because products, payments, delivery charges and stock all have to be entered and tested before anyone can buy.

One honest warning: the delay is almost never the design. It's content. The fastest sites we've launched were for owners who sent their photos and product details in the first week.

What happens after it's live

A website isn't a one-time purchase, and anyone who tells you otherwise is setting you up for a surprise.

Your domain renews every year, and so does hosting. If your site runs on WordPress or WooCommerce, it needs updates now and then so it stays secure. Something will eventually break, and you want to know in advance who fixes it and what that costs. Ask for those answers before you pay, not after.

We can look after this monthly, or hand you a site you can run yourself. Both are fine. What isn't fine is finding out a year later that you don't control your own domain.

Five questions to ask anyone who quotes you

  1. Will the domain and hosting be in my name, in an account I can log into?
  2. Is this a custom design or a template, and which template?
  3. Can I change my own text and photos afterwards, without paying?
  4. What's included after launch, and what does a change cost?
  5. Can you show me two sites you built that are live right now?

Any studio worth hiring will answer all five without hesitating. We'd rather you ask than assume.

We're in Sunder Nagar, Fatehabad, and we've built sites for businesses here selling mirrors, paint, mobile accessories, scale models and bridal makeup. If you want a straight answer on what yours would cost and how long it would take, tell us what you need or read more about what we do in Fatehabad.
